Saturday's KPL action

Sony Sugar 0 AFC Leopards 1

AFC Leopards provided the shock result during Saturday's KPL action, registering a 1-0 away to Sony Sugar in Awendo.

Harambee Stars trialist Sebastian Muchera scored the winning goal on 34 minutes when he connected an Ahmed Farid cross.

One on one with Arnold Origi

FK Moss (Norway) and Kenya goalkeeper Arnold Origi has expressed his desire to reclaim the number one jersey in the Harambee Stars line up.

Origi, who has been out of national team action since going off injured while playing for Kenya in a 2010 World Cup/African Cup of Nations qualifier against Zimbabwe in Nairobi also spoke about Kenya's chances of qualifying for both tournaments as well as the current Harambee Stars squad and Antoine Hey,recently appointed Kenya head coach.

He said this while speaking to us in an online interview which appears in full below.

1. What is the progress of your recovery from injury?
I have fully recovered from the injury, back in training and playing 100%.

2. Do you hope to be back as Kenya's number 1 goalie?
I am working really hard right now.I know its not going to be easy to be back as Kenya's number one goalie because Kenya has so many good goalies but I will do my very best to be Kenya's number one goalie again.

3. What are Harambee Star's chances of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and 2010 African cup of Nations?

I strongly believe we have a strong chance of making it to both tournaments.Its not going to be easy at all ,especially considering that the game that will redeem us is the one away to Nigeria. It all comes down to belief. We just have to believe in ourselves because football is evolving and there are no longer any small teams.So I think that the teams that will make it through are the ones that strongly believe and have faith that they can do it.

4. Who is your greatest inspiration on and off the field?
My greatest inspiration on the pitch is Gianlugi Buffon and Iker Casilllas because they are match winning goalkeepers and that's like what I want to become,a match winner for my teams, both national and club.
Off the pitch has to be Kaka,he is a committed Christian and I admire his quiet lifestyle.

5. What do you think of the current Harambee Stars squad and coach Antoine Hey?
I think it is a very talented squad that is capable of causing upsets and turning heads on the continent.
I have not worked with Antoine Hey personally yet but I am looking forward to doing so. I should also say that he looks like he is committed to what he is doing and he looks like a nice guy,easy to work with.
